In order to avoid a popularity contest, the voting attorneys are asked to choose attorneys based on professional achievement and civic service. After receiving the results, Law & Politics conducts extensive research which includes a review of the background and experience of each candidate. Only 5 percent of the total lawyers in the state are selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers.
