Partner Vic Cavanaugh to be Inducted as Fellow in the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers
For Immediate Release July 5, 2005 Elarbee Thompson partner Vic Cavanaugh will be inducted as a Fellow into the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers, a professional association honoring the leading lawyers nationwide in the practice of labor and employment law, at the 2005 American Bar Association annual meeting in Chicago. Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by one’s colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence.
In order to be named a Fellow, nominees go through a rigorous confirmation process to ensure that they have practiced labor and employment law for at least 20 years and that they have proven to their peers, the bar, bench and public that they possess the highest professional qualifications and ethical standards; the highest level of character, integrity, professional expertise and leadership; a commitment to fostering and furthering the objectives of the College; sustained, exceptionally high quality professional services to clients, bar, bench and public; and significant evidence of scholarship, teaching, lecturing, and/or distinguished published writings on labor and employment law. Vic has represented employers in labor and employment law matters since 1970. In addition to the State Bar of Georgia, the Florida Bar Association, and the Atlanta Bar Association, he is a member of the Industrial Relations Research Association, the Georgia Association of Hospital Attorneys, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the Electric Cooperative Bar Association. He has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer by his peers and is President of Worklaw® Network, the international network of independent labor and employment law firms.
