Frances A. DeThomas leads the firm’s matrimonial litigation practice. Frances has handled numerous matters in both Supreme and Family Court and she has represented clients in all phases of matrimonial and family law litigation involving issues of equitable distribution, maintenance, child custody and child support. She is also a certified mediator, receiving a post graduate certification in mediation from the Center for Mediation in Law and a collaborative divorce attorney and a member of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals. Frances also practices in the real estate field, handling residential as well as commercial closings and she has been appointed Special Referee in real estate foreclosure actions in Westchester County Supreme Court. Frances is a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association Family Law Section and a member of the Executive Committee of the Westchester County Bar Association Family Law Section. Frances is a former Vice President and Co-Chair of the Matrimonial Committee of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and former member of the Executive Committee of the Rye YMCA. She is a Past President of the Rye Rotary Club. Frances was admitted to the New York Bar in 2000 and the Connecticut Bar in 1999. She received her J.D. from Pace University School of Law in 1999. |
