Mary Pierson Keating is a co-founder and managing partner of Tibbetts, Keating & Butler LLC. She was admitted to the New York Bar in 1986 and admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1989. Attorney Keating’s practice areas include corporate law, with an emphasis on contract law; computer law; real estate, with emphasis on commercial leases and loan workouts; estate planning and administration; and family law. She also reviews employment and severance agreements for her clients. Attorney Keating received her Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School in 1985 and her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Manhattanville College, with a double major in English and Religion, in 1979. Prior to starting the firm, she was an IBM Attorney in their Marketing Division. In her position there she was one of two attorneys responsible for the drafting of the customer contracts. Attorney Keating was a Speaker “From Myth to Fact: Working with Disabled Lawyers and Client,” at the ABA Annual Conference in 1995. Recently she elected the Secretary to the State Rehabilitation Council to which Governor Rell appointed her in July of 2008. She is also a member of the Connecticut Bar Association. Ms. Keating’s community involvement includes serving as a volunteer attorney for the Pro Bono Partnership which is an organization that assists non-profit, community-based organizations with their legal needs. She has also served as Vice President/Secretary of the Rowayton Library and has served on their Board of Trustees since 2004. Ms. Keating also serves on the Advisory Board of the Fairfield County Bank. |
